PBA legend Allan Caidic, breaking the 79-point game record

The so-called "The Triggerman" scored his 79 points on November 21, 1991, when his Presto Tivoli team faced Ginebra San Miguel.

Former PBA legend Allan Caidic was on the league record after scoring 79 points in a game when his Presto Tivoli faced Ginebra San Miguel.

This is the highest single-game points total for a local player.

Looking back, Caidic said he would not play because he had lost his sleep that day because he was watching over the woman who was about to give birth.

In the second quarter of the game the PBA legend immediately scored 27 points and the team set a record for them to break the 15 3-pointers that Caidic also made.

It eventually turned 17 triples to erase the previous mark, but Caidic's record-breaking night continued, reaching 77 points.

As a result, Caidic set the record for most points in a half at 53, in a quarter at 37, and 3-point attempts at 27 and made 17, not to mention defeating Ginebra at 162-149.
