PSG publicly: 'Do not make online threats vs. Duterte '

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) has urged the public not to post threats online against anyone including President Rodrigo Duterte.

According to PSG commander Colonel Jesus Durante III, anyone can be held responsible for threatening or killing anyone especially the president of the Philippines.

Durante said PSG is already in contact with law enforcement agencies to monitor those behind the online threats.

The PSG made the announcement after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) accused of inciting to sedition a high school teacher who posted on social media offering P50 million to anyone who could kill the president.

A construction worker in Malay, Aklan has also been arrested for allegedly extorting P100 million to kill President Duterte.

The party is believed to be holding parties in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen insisted after National Capital Region Office (NCRPO) chief Debold Sinas's controversial birthday celebration where physical distancing was allegedly followed.

According to Leonen, the SC held a private retirement ceremony for Justice Andres Reyes Jr. for 40 years of service, but they have done so through videoconferencing.

According to him, Justice Reyes deserves a bigger celebration but it is unethical to do so now that many of our countrymen are suffering from pandemics.

The first online retirement rites in SC history for Reyes, on its 70th birthday, were announced Friday.
